FORMER PRESIDENT ADVISED AGAINST ABUSING DEMOCRATIC SPACE

United Party for National Development, UPND, Secretary General Batuke Imenda says former President Edgar Lungu should avoid abusing the democratic space accorded to him like all other citizens.

In a statement to RCV News today, Mr. Imenda said Mr. Lungu’s unthought-through statements, including one he made on Sunday at Dunamis Church that they could be change of government before the 2026 general elections, are not only reckless but have potential to plunge the country into chaos.

“The UPND government shall observe with keen interest, Mr. Lungu’s deliberate attempt to cause anarchy in the country”, said Mr. Imenda.

Mr. Imenda has advised the former Head of State not to provoke Zambians because they have not recovered from what he called Mr. Lungu’s reckless leadership.

He has urged the former head of state to stop misleading himself about his coming back, saying this will not happen.
