Former Cabinet Minister in the Patriotic Front led regime John Phiri, has died.
Dr. Phiri, 75, died on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Maina Soko Medical Center in Lusaka, after an illness.
According to a press statement released by Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, to RCV News in Lusaka today, the Late Dr. Phiri served as Cabinet Minister between 2011 and 2016 in the Ministries of General Education and Local Government and Housing.
Mr. Kangwa disclosed that the Funeral gathering is being held at Farm No.35, Balmoral, Off Kafue Road, Chilanga District.
He added that members of the public are further advised that Cabinet Office is working in collaboration with the family of the Late Dr. Phiri on the funeral arrangements.
“A detailed funeral programme will be released once the burial arrangements are concluded in consultation with the bereaved family,” said Mr. Kangwa.
