A Mental Health Specialist at the Ministry of Health, Gabriel Lungu, has called on relevant authorities to urgently provide shelter and food to flood victims, stressing that immediate action is crucial to addressing the crisis.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Lungu emphasized that meeting these basic needs should be a top priority before considering other interventions.
“Many valuable goods have been lost, and extensive damage has been done to agricultural fields, leaving those affected in distress,” said Mr, Lung.
He further highlighted the need for additional support, including counselling services, to help affected individuals cope with the trauma caused by the sudden and disruptive changes to their lives.
