Fairworld Properties Limited Chief Executive Officer, Chisebwe Fumbeshi, has called on the general citizenry to collaborate with government, in creating a sustainable framework for property rate collection that will benefit all Zambians.
Mr. Fumbeshi said property rates play a critical role in generating revenue for local authorities, enabling them to provide essential services and infrastructure that enhance the quality of life for all citizens.
He said this during the Land Conference organized by Zambia Institute of Estate Agents in Livingstone today.
“The opportunity must be seized to invest in the future, ensuring that cities and communities are resilient, vibrant, and capable of supporting the well-being of current and future generations”, said Mr. Fumbeshi.
Mr. Fumbeshi, however, said the current collection systems are insufficient, leading to missed opportunities for growth and improvement in the communities.
He has urged government to support local authorities with the necessary resources and policies to enhance property rate collection.
