Government, with the support the European Union has today launched the Energy Single Licensing System, with an aim to streaming licensing processes thereby reducing the time and cost of obtaining licenses and permit.
Ministry of Energy Peter Kapala says the development is testament of government’s commitment to promoting efficiency of doing business in the energy sector.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry Permanent secretary Administration Chisangano Zyambo during the launch.
“The system is user friendly and will improve response time”, said Mr. Kapala.
He has further commended Copperbelt University for coming up with the system which will also promote the private sector.
And speaking at the same event, Copperbelt University Vice Chancellor Professor Imasiku Nyambe said the Single Licensing System is a significant step in enhancing the energy sector.
