EFZ DISHEARTENED BY RISING CASES OF CHILD DEFILEMENT

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has expressed concern with the increasing cases of child defilement in the country, particularly the harrowing case of a father who sexually abused his daughter, already battling cancer.

EFZ Executive Director, Andrew Mwenda, has described such acts as a direct attack on the moral fabric of the nation, emphasizing that society must not tolerate such crimes.

“It is unacceptable that cases of child defilement continue to rise, often perpetrated by individuals who should be the primary protectors of children,” said Bishop Mwenda.

He has since urged government of Zambia through the  Ministry of Justice, to impose the harshest possible penalties on offenders.

He stressed the need to strengthen the existing legal framework to deter potential perpetrators.

Bishop Mwenda further called on law enforcement agencies to expedite investigations and ensure justice is not only served but also seen to be served.
