ECONOMIST CONCERNED WITH STATE OF KCM

Economic Analyst Yusuf Dodia says reports that Vedanta resources is looking for investors to buy shares in Konkola Copper Mine KCM, will cause further delay to the full running of the mine.

Mr. Dodia said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “Status of the economy”.

Mr. Dodia said that the delay has caused anxiety among Zambians who were excited after Vedanta retook over the mine.

“It is almost a year and the Zambian people are still waiting on Vedanta to return on site at KCM”, said Mr. Dodia.

He has stressed the need to have the mine back on track to benefit the local people and economy at large.
