Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) President, Oswald Mungule, has called on citizens to actively engage in tax payment as a means to foster national development.
In a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today, by EAZ Acting Chief Executive Officer, Tendai Posiana, Dr. Mungule emphasized that a country cannot progress without mobilizing its resources.
Dr. Mungule urged citizens to show interest in the tax innovations introduced by the ZRA, which aim to create a more amicable tax system.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mungule said during the forthcoming 2024 Economic Summit, organized by EAZ, the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) will play a pivotal role in presenting its efforts to streamline the Zambian tax system from July 25th to 26th.
Dr. Mungule indicated that experts will illustrate how taxpayers can collaborate with the ZRA in fulfilling their tax obligations.
“Tax compliance is vital in contributing to the economic advancement of the nation,” said Dr. Mungule.
