DON’T POLITICISE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER – SUMAILI

“If there has been a time that Zambia needed to pray, is now,” Former Religious Affairs Minister Godfrida Sumaili has said, indicating that the country needs healing.

Rev. Sumaili says the Bible does state that God can heal the land, even amid the current drought that has brought about hunger, hence the need for Zambians to unite in Prayer.

“Zambia needs the healing from various devastations,” said Dr. Sumaili, further urging all the people, regardless of their political and church affiliation to turn up on the 18th October and pray for the country.

Rev. Sumaili said this in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, in reaction to the annual Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation, which will be held this Friday under the theme “building resilience, unity and hard work, through prayer: our  heritage, our future.”

She said Former President Edgar Lungu had a pure heart when he declared a national day of prayer because, praying has been instrumental in dealing with Zambia’s problems.

Rev. Sumaili advised against politicizing the national day of prayer.
