The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has expressed concern over the increasing rate of divorce in the country, attributing the trend to poor pre-marital counselling and unrealistic expectations in marriage.
EFZ Executive Director, Bishop Andrew Mwenda, stated that many marriages end in divorce due to factors such as financial stress, societal pressure, and external influences.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Bishop, Mwenda emphasized the importance of moral principles and emotional preparedness before couples commit to marriage.
“Divorce is a matter of the heart, and it is crucial to establish strong moral foundations before entering into marriage,” said Bishop Mwenda.
He further advised couples to invest in building solid relationships and seek wise counsel together before considering divorce as an option.
