The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has reaffirmed it’s commitment to fighting financial crimes without fear or favor.
DEC Public Relations Officer, Allan Tamba, has therefore dismissed assertions that the commission primarily focuses on politicians linked to the previous regime.
Speaking on Radio Christian Voice’s Chatback program on the topic “Understanding the Mandate of DEC” in Lusaka today, Mr. Tamba said that the commission operates an open-door policy, encouraging Zambians to report any individuals suspected of money laundering, regardless of their political or social standing.
“DEC will pursue cases based on reports from the public, the state, and wherever it detects suspicious financial activities,” said Mr. Tamba.
Mr. Tamba assured the nation that the commission remains independent and professional in executing its duties.
He emphasized that DEC’s efforts are not driven by political motives but rather by the need to uphold transparency and accountability in the country’s financial system.
