CRAZ SAYS BUS FARES TO REMAIN THE SAME

The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia says commuters should not anticipate a price reduction in bus fares, despite the Energy Regulation Board ERB reducing  petroleum products for the month of July.

ERB reduced the price of petrol by K3.98, diesel by K1.7, kerosene by K3.14 and Jet A-1 by K3.56 for the month of July, 2024.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Association President Aaron Kamuti said bus fares have been constant for the last 3 months despite an upward adjustment of fuel prices in May.

“Operators and other stakeholders have agreed that the prices remain the same for now,” said Mr. Kamuti.

Mr. Kamuti said there is need for a huge price reduction  of petroleum prices to further trigger a reduction in bus fares.
