CRAZ CALLS ON ALL LONG DISTANCE BUSES TO ENABLE THEIR GPS

The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has urged the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to conduct a thorough audit of all long distance buses that do not have Global Positioning System (GPS).

CRAZ President, Aaron Kamuti, was reacting to a report from RTSA which indicated that the Juldan bus involved in a road traffic accident in Kafue this week had its GPS disabled.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Kamuti has observed that most long distance buses are operating without GPS, which encourages the drivers to over speed.

“More deaths on the road will be recorded if RTSA does undertake this audit on the buses,” said Mr. Kamuti.

He has suggested that long distance buses that do not have their GPS on should not be allowed to operate on the road to ensure lives are protected.
