CRAZ BEMOANS EARLY SUSPENSION LIFT OF JULDAN MOTORS

The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has expressed shock with the Road Transport and Safety Agency’s decision to prematurely lift Juldan Motors suspension.

On November 14, 2024, the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) suspended the road service license for Juldan Motors Limited, following a road traffic accident on the Kafue-Mazabuka road, which claimed 4 lives.

But Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, CRAZ President, Aaron Kamuti, said that RTSA should have left Juldan motors to serve the entire ban, which should have been lifted in February, to allow the operator learn and reflect on the ban.

“It is however hoped that the bus operator has put remedial measure to ensure  safety for commuters following its suspension,” said Mr. Kamuti.

And Mr. Kamuti has emphasized the need for commuters to speak out whenever they notice behaviors that could trigger accidents such as overseeding.
