Lumezi Town Council has awarded contracts valued at over K9,000,000 to 15 contractors for works on selected 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) community projects.
Council Assistant Public Relations Officer, Irvin Muyumbwa, said the projects include construction of Kavinaka Rural Health Post in Kaikumbe Ward, construction of Chasera Rural Health Post in Chibande Ward, construction of Kateme Police Post and staff house in Diwa Ward.
Mr. Muyumbwa said others include the supply and delivery of 800 school desks in various wards, construction of 1×3 Classroom Block at Lukusuzi Primary School in Lukusuzi Ward and construction of 1×3 Classroom Block at Kamo Primary School in Kachama Ward.
And addressing contractors and suppliers after contracts signing, Lumezi Town Council Secretary, Mary Sinkala said the 2025 CDF contracts have been awarded in good time hence the Local Authority’s expectation that all projects will be completed within the given contract period.
“There are no shortcuts in these contracts, if you make a shortcut, it is your loss” Ms. Sinkala cautioned the contractors in a statement issued to RCV News today.
She said the Council is a partner in development calling on contractors to always consult with the Local Authority and whenever they encounter challenges during contract execution.
In the 2025 Constituency Development Fund budget allocation, Lumezi Constituency approved 19 community projects for funding and implementation at a total cost of over K21 million and works on selected projects have already commenced.
