The Ministry of Energy has announced the successful offloading of the first diesel consignment under the newly implemented TAZAMA Open Access system in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
According to the Ministry, the vessel carrying the diesel consignment docked on March 31, 2025, began discharging on April 5, and completed the process on April 8.
Ministry of Energy, Permanent Secretary Technical Services, Peter Mumba, described the milestone as a significant step in operationalizing the TAZAMA Open Access framework.
“This consignment underscores government’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and security of the national fuel supply chain, while also strengthening energy security and fostering a competitive and inclusive petroleum sector,” said Mr. Mumba in a statemenet issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He commended all the companies and stakeholders involved in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of the offloading process under the new framework.
Mr. Mumba further reiterated government’s dedication to pursuing strategic energy reforms that drive long-term sectoral improvements and contribute to the sustainable development of the nation.
