COMMUNITIES URGED TO KEEP REPORTING GBV CASES

Family Are Nations has urged the community to continue reporting cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to help combat the vice.

Commenting on the decline in GBV cases from 42,965 in 2023 to 42,178 in 2024, Organization Executive Director, Judith Mwila, attributed the reduction to increased community awareness about GBV, stating that  progress is what the country has been striving for.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News, Ms. Mwila encouraged the public to remain vigilant, reflect, strategize, and persist in reporting GBV cases.

“This is a positive sign, and if people continue reporting cases, there is no doubt that the country will successfully fight GBV,” said Ms. Mwila.

She also commended law enforcement agencies for their efforts in addressing GBV cases and urged them to impose stricter penalties on offenders.
