COMESA MEMBER STATES CHALLENGED TO SOLVE ECONOMY COMPLEXITIES

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa COMESA has stressed the need for member states to create conducive environments for trade, investment, and economic cooperation in  view of the complexities of the global economy.

COMESA Secretary General Chileshe Kapwepwe says COMESA will engage with member states on initiatives aimed at enhancing intra-COMESA trade, harmonizing regulatory frameworks, and fostering robust and resilient regional value chains.

Ms. Kapwepwe said this in Lusaka today, when she received letters of credence from  Rwandan High commissioner to Zambia, Emmanuel Bugingo, to be formally accredited permanent representative to COMESA.

“COMESA will learn from countries like Rwanda to learn on how it has enhanced trade facilitation in the region” said Ms. Kapwepwe.

She said that COMESA wants to see every member state contribute significantly to the growth, stability and integration of the region.
