Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Technology and Science, Victor Kachabe, has urged members of staff and members of the Integrity Committee to report any alleged cases of corruption in the Ministry.
Mr. Kachabe says failure to report any corruption cases is also corruption itself as someone can be accused of abetting the crime.
Speaking when he addressed members of the Integrity Committee in the Ministry of Technology and Science in Lusaka during their orientation, Mr. Kachabe said the Integrity Committee must lead by example by promoting best practices in utilizing government funds and operations.
Mr. Kachabe said the orientation aims at promoting best practices in public procurement and stores, while enhancing human resources Practices and procedures.
He added that the training will also strengthen accounting officers and audit staff to uphold overall fiscal discipline and improve operational efficiency.
Mr. Kachabe said despite the Ministry of Technology and Science having less contact with huge sums of money, members of staff must desist from being found in corrupt practices.
“Corruption should not happen here because we do not handle huge sums of money. I implore all of you to report any corrupt acts to relevant authorities,” said Mr. Kachabe.
