Government has encouraged Zambian citizens to explore multiple sources of income to enhance productivity and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba, made this call during the launch of the Productivity Clinic workshop, organized in partnership with KAIZEN and NIPA.
Speaking during the event, Ms. Tambatamba emphasized the importance of the workshop themed “Productivity and Mindset Change” that aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and mindset to thrive in the current job market such as psychological readiness, skills enhancement, entrepreneurship, and self-employment.
“Joblessness can severely impact an individual’s self-esteem and well-being, leaving them without a steady income to meet their basic needs and in response, government is implementing measures to empower those affected by job loss, as well as recent graduates seeking employment,” said Ms. Tambatamba.
She further revealed that, beyond the Productivity Clinic, her ministry plans to revamp the Public Employment Exchange Program to enhance job placement services.
