Chienge Town Council, in Luapula Province, has successfully conducted elections for the 2024 Constituency Development Fund Committee CDFC.
Reverend Brian Mofu has been elected as the new Chairperson, and Mrs. Rosemary Chishala as the Vice Chairperson taking over from Ms. Idah Chomba and Elizabeth Mwila respectively.
According to a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today, by Chienge Town Council Public Relations Officer, Wells Chifunda, the elections took place at the Council Chambers, and the newly elected have assumed their duties with immediate effect.
Mr. Chifunda said the CDFC, which includes the Chienge Member of Parliament, Given Katuta, visited Nakwisa and Mulolwa Community Schools, which were constructed under CDF.
And during the visit Ms. Katuta assured the pupils and the teachers that School desks, which have already been purchased, will be delivered to the schools soon, to ensure pupils are not sitting on the floor.
