The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has announced that loan applications for its 2025 empowerment programs are yet to open, as the commission awaits the release of funds from the Treasury.
CEEC Public Relations Manager, Michelo Mukata, says the commission was allocated K392 million in the 2025 National Budget to support its economic empowerment initiatives, adding that disbursements have not yet commenced.
“CEEC remains aware of the expectations of targeted Zambian entrepreneurs, as it serves as an avenue for providing affordable financing at the lowest interest rates,” Mr. Mukata said in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He acknowledged the frustrations of applicants affected by the delays and expressed regret over the inconvenience caused.
But Mr. Mukata reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to its mission of empowering citizens, adding that CEEC remains focused as it awaits the release of the budgeted resources for 2025.
