The Council Churches of Zambia ( CCZ) has expressed concern over the trend of young boys engaging in violent and disturbing behavior towards their family members.
CCZ General Secretary, Emmanuel Chikoya, says it is alarming that teenage boys and young adults are indulging in criminal acts such as rape , attempted water poisoning and suspected ritual practices.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Father Chikoya attributed these trends to the lack of properly instilled values, principles and mis-guided love by some parents and families.
He cautioned against raising children with a sense of entitlement to material things, warning that this could push them toward immoral and criminal acts to get their way.
Father Chikoya further urged young people to focus on developing skills and drawing inspiration from peers who are making a positive impact in society.
