CCZ  CONDEMNS SODOMY IN BOARDING SCHOOLS

The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ ) has expressed concern with the increasing sodomy cases in boarding schools.

On 31st January 2025, a case of pupil-on-pupil sodomy from Hilcrest Technical Secondary School was reported at Livingstone Central Police Station, and this has raised concern among members of the public on the safety of children in schools.

But Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka , CCZ General Secretary, Emmanuel Chikoya, has emphasized the need to improve security and create more awareness on sodomy in schools.

“Sodomy is a criminal offense, and the perpetrators must face the law, to ensure that victims receive the needed counselling” said Father Chikoya.

He has since urged members of the public to report  such cases to relevant authorities and create a strong support system for victims.
