Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED)Executive Director Namenda Malupande has called on community leaders to actively support and appreciate the transformative impact that education has on girls.
Ms. Malupande has emphasized CAMFED’s belief that empowering girls through education is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty and advancing gender equality.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Ms. Malupande also highlighted the importance of collaboration with local leaders to ensure the education of girls remains a top priority especially in remote areas.
“We’ve seen how young women who would have ended up in child marriages acquiring educational skills through our skill training programs and getting employed, thereby improving not only their livelihoods but also, that of their families,” said Ms. Malupande.
She stated that through enhanced collaboration between organizations like CAMFED and community leaders, more girls will have the chance to learn, flourish, and grow into future leaders, thereby contributing to a more inclusive future for Zambia.
