Build Zambia 2064 Program Advisor, Cheelo Jiji, says the recently approved new school curriculum has given the nation an opportunity to align the education sector to societal needs.
Dr. Jiji said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic, Zambia at 60 in the education sector.
He said that the new school curriculum earmarked for implementation in 2025, seeks to address the new trends and make the education system more relevant to the challenges affecting the country’s workforce.
“There is now need to equip teachers with materials on the new curriculum to avoid potential inconsistencies in delivery,” said Dr. Jiji.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Education Assistant Director Communication, Kunda Mando, said the ministry will provide guidance on how it will offer refresher courses to teachers on the new school curriculum.
Ms. Mando said that government is aware of the need to quip teachers with the new teaching guidelines on the curriculum.
