BoZ SHOULD FLOOD SMALLER NOTES ON THE MARKET

Business Consultant, Jones Kalyongwe, has called on government to ensure smaller bank notes  are readily supplied on the market, to support the newly introduced K200 and K500 notes by the Central Bank.

Dr. Kalyongwe says the bigger notes are unpopular in circulation not only in Zambia, hence the need to consider increasing  the smaller notes to enable small business owners conduct their businesses effectively.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Dr. Kalyongwe said the introduction of the new notes is commendable as it will stabilize the economy and will clean up illicit money from the market.

He further said the increase in small denominations will therefore help SMEs to conduct business effectively.
