AVAP CALLS FOR ISSUE BASED CAMPAIGNS IN PAMBASHE AND PETAUKE

The Anti- Voter Apathy Project AVAP has warned political parties taking part in the Pambashe and Petauke parliamentary by elections against violence and intimidation which it says, causes voter apathy.

AVAP Executive Director, Richwell Mulwani, says majority of the by elections that have taken place across the country since 2021 have been marred by voter apathy, due to violence and unethical behaviours by participating political parties.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulwani has therefore urged participants in the by elections to conduct issue based campaigns to ensure electorates vote in huge numbers for their preferred candidate.

“AVAP also appeals to ECZ to ensure all political parties abide to the electoral code of conduct and punish erring political  parties,” said Mr. Mulwani.

He has also appealed to electorates in the two constituencies to ensure they elect leaders that will ably represent them.
