AGRICULTURE EXPERT CALLS FOR EARLY DISTRIBUTION OF FARMING INPUTS

Agriculture Expert Gilbert Banda, has reminded government on the need for early distribution of farming inputs to farmers under the Farmer Input Support  Program (FISP).

Mr. Banda says following the release of the rain forecast for the next rain season, farming inputs should be delivered to farmers before the first rains.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Banda said that any delay in the distribution process will be a drawback to the nation, that needs a bumper harvest in the next farming season to ensure food security.

“Government must do the right thing by ensuring that farmers are well equipped before the onset of the rains,” said Mr. Banda.

He has also urges farmers on who are not on (FISP) to ensure they purchase their farming inputs early.
