Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba has expressed satisfaction with Zambia’s participation in the recently concluded Africa Travel Indaba 2025, held in Durban, South Africa, describing it as a valuable platform for promoting the country’s tourism potential.
Mr. Sikumba commended the strong presence of Zambian exhibitors and private sector stakeholders at the event, noting that their participation provided an opportunity to showcase Zambia’s rich and diverse tourism offerings to a global audience.
“The Africa Travel Indaba remains one of the most important tourism trade shows on the continent, it serves as a powerful economic driver by enabling African countries, including Zambia, to present the diversity of their attractions while fostering a more united and prosperous tourism future for the region,” said Mr. Sikumba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in driving growth within the tourism sector, highlighting that enhanced collaboration between public and private players is essential for unlocking Zambia’s full tourism potential.
Mr. Sikumba added that the Indaba facilitated meaningful engagements with international buyers, tour operators, and media representatives, reinforcing Zambia’s position as a must-visit destination in Southern Africa.
He further called for a united voice in promoting regional tourism cooperation, urging African nations to strengthen partnerships that enhance cross-border tourism and shared growth.
