ACTIVIST CALLS FOR COLLABORATION IN CURBING DEFILEMENT

Human Rights Activist, Maiko Zulu has called for  close collaboration among government, the church and other stakeholders in curbing defilement cases that particularly involve young girls.

Mr. Zulu says it is unfortunate that the country continues to witness defilement cases which negatively affect families.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka , Mr. Zulu said protecting females from defilement requires a multifaceted approach that involves government taking concrete steps to ensure a safe environment.

“More needs are to be done to support victims and help create a health space for them,” said Mr. Zulu.

He also encouraged the Church to play its active role on ensuring that girls are safeguarded in homes.
