Governance Expert, Wesley Miyanda, has challenged the office of the President to relieve itself as a supervisory entity, to the running of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Mr. Miyanda said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic, “Fight Against corruption in Zambia”.
He said that the fight against corruption will only be won if the (ACC) is operating independently.
“In the current form where the (ACC) is under the office of the president , cabinet ministers and other individuals connected to the president may be shielded from investigations,” said Mr. Miyanda.
He has also urged President Hakainde Hichilema, to quickly re-appoint new board members of the (ACC) after he dissolved the board earlier this month.
