THE CHURCH CONCERNED WITH PEOPLE MASQUERADING AS MEN OF GOD

A Lusaka based Clergyman, Lordwell Siame, has called on law enforcement agencies to stiffen punishment on people masquerading as Men and Women of God.

In the recent past, the country has seen a huge trend of people masquerading as men of God which has led to many people especially women being deceived and later indulge in Ungodly acts in exchange for miracles.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka,  United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Lusaka Presbytery Bishop, Lordwell Siame, said that asking for Favors in exchange for miracles is a sin before God, further stating that stiffening the punishment for would be offenders is the only way to end such acts as it will instil fear in people.

Meanwhile, reacting to the call by the Non-Governmental Organization Coordinating Council (NGOCC) that Churches should be self-regulated to stop people from masquerading as men of God, Bishop Siame said that, self-regulation is impossible adding that Zambia has several churches.

“It is very difficult for churches to be self-regulated because of the freedom and liberty that people have, it would have been easier if churches spoke with one voice”, said Bishop Siame.
