The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has called on all road users to continue adopting safe driving practices, to reduce the number of road accidents during this festive period.
CRAZ President, Aaron Kamuti, says despite the country recording a reduced number of accidents on Christmas day, more should be done by road users to ensure lives are saved.
Last week, The Zambia Police announced that the nation recorded a total of 125 road traffic accidents during the Christmas period, compared to 281 road traffic accidents recorded during the same period in 2023.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Kamuti said that there is need for road users to maintain patience and courtesy on the roads.
“During this period, there is also need to increase police presence on the road to ensure compliance among road users,” said Kamuti.
He urged drivers to remain vigilant, and prioritize the safety of passengers and pedestrians alike.
