World Vision Zambia has urged government to prioritize and invest in projects aimed at improving the nutritional status of pregnant women across the nation.
World Vision Zambia Multiple Mirco nutrients supplements projects Manager, Miranda Mhone, said this in Lusaka today when she featured on Christian Voices Chatback program.
Ms. Mhone revealed 31% of Zambian women are affected by anaemia, a condition that requires urgent attention through improving the nutrition of pregnant women.
“The high prevalence of anaemia among women should serve as a wake-up call for the government,” said Ms. Mhone.
Ms. Mhone further explained that investing in maternal health and nutrition not only benefits mothers but also ensures better outcomes for their children, contributing to a healthier and more productive population.
