FAN WARNS AGAINST WITHDRAWING REPORTED GBV CASES

Families are Nations (FAN) Founder, Judith Mwila, has   urged families to refrain from withdrawing Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases after reporting them as the trend encourages perpetrators and is an obstruction to   the course of justice.

Ms. Mwila says GBV is happening largely at family level and its unfortunate that family members choose to deal with these issues outside of court.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Ms. Mwila said it is important for people to take necessary steps, seek legal help and let the law take its course.

“Families should recognize their responsibility towards each other and be one another’s keeper” advised Ms. Mwila

Ms. Mwila has since urged member of the public to support the law enforcers to fight against GBV by ensuring that all GBV cases are reported.
