President Hakainde Hichilema has commended the Church for its continued support through prayer in attaining National development.
President Hichilema has described the church as a strategic partner in the development of the country.
He added that the Church has played a role in the peace that the country is enjoying today, saying that governmnet can not do it alone.
“The church has always been a beacon of hope and source of strength within society,” said Mr. Hichilema.
Speaking through a speech read on his behalf by Lusaka Province Minister, Sheal Muliyata, during the consecration of Bishop, Kondwelani Sakala, of the Bible Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA) as new General overseer over the weekend , the Head of state reiterated government’s commitment to working with BIGOCA and other faith based organisations to advance the common good.
The President has also urged the church to unitize the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) that government has provide for all Zambian’s.
He has also encouraged the church to help Government with the effects of the Drought the country is currently experiencing.
And Bishop Sakala has pledged to support government as he take up the new role as general overseer of BIGOCA.
