Minister of Energy, Makozo Chikote, has reaffirmed that ZESCO limited will provide 3hrs of stable power supply per day to retail customers starting today.
This comes from the completion of maintenance works at Maamba collieries and restoration of the Zambia-Namibia power inter-connector.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Chikote said that government however expects the situation to better going forward.
“This is not the best government can do but it will continue to pursue other avenues of providing solutions to the energy crisis in an effort to rescue the country’s economy,” said Mr. Chikote.
He has however described the month of September as the most difficult in the load shedding sequence.
