Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu says women have been instrumental in shaping the country’s security landscape since pre-independence.
Mr. Mwimbu was speaking during the Women’s Leadership Conference organized by the Zambia Police Service under the theme “invest in women police officers for accelerated safer Zambia.”
He commended women for their diverse skills, perspectives and dedication to safeguarding communities.
“Women in uniform inspire a sense of pride and need support from all stakeholders in order to enhance their efforts towards achieving a safer Zambia”, said Mr. Mwimbu.
Mr. Mwimbu said their contribution to national peace and stability has made the country to be a beacon of peace at a global stage.
He assured women in uniform of government’s continued support through in training programmes that focus on building leadership, teamwork, and among others communication.
