95 POST OFFICES TRANSFORMED INTO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION CENTERS

Government has connected 95 Post Offices countrywide with Starlink kits to provide free internet to residents, who are now able to access over 300 government services online.

Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati, says the conversion of Post Offices into Digital Transformation Centers has been successfully done countrywide.

Speaking after he toured Nakonde Post Office in Muchinga Province, Mr. Mutati said government targets to connect a total of 106 Post Offices countrywide under the Digital Transformation Centers project.

He said citizens who want to renew their insurance, pay for road tax, get Farmer Input Support Program and Social Cash Transfer no longer need to travel to provincial centres but can easily do it at their nearest Post Office.

Mr. Mutati disclosed that all the Post Offices in Muchinga Province have been connected to Starlink.

He disclosed that for the first one year, government will provide free internet to citizens at Post Offices and later, citizens will have to pay for it.
