76 STREET VENDORS COMMITTED TO FAST TRACK COURTS IN LUSAKA

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has disclosed that 721 street vendors were arrested for violating the laws, adding that  76 vendors appeared before the fast-track court and were subsequently fined, in the first five months of the year.

LCC Public Relations Manager, Chola Mwamba, says this is Despite efforts to sensitize them on the importance of operating within the designated areas.

Ms. Mwamba has since urged all residents to respect and adhere to the laws governing the city.

“It is concerning that some residents, particularly street vendors continue to disregard the laws,” said Ms. Mwamba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

She said that the Local Authority will continue to work with law enforcement agencies to enforce the laws and regulations, appealing to residents, to cooperate with the council in this Endeavor.
