4 ZIMBABWEANS APPREHENDED FOR THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

Woodlands Police Station  in Lusaka has apprehended four Zimbabwean nationals in connection with a series of thefts from motor vehicles.

“These individuals have been linked to multiple recent thefts from motor vehicles at shopping malls in the Woodlands, Kabulonga, and other areas of Lusaka,” Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Rea Hamoonga has said in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

Mr. Hamoonga said  they were apprehended while using a grey Toyota Mark X with registration number BCE 5455, and that police found a set of number plates bearing registration number CAE 3495, which matched the numbers on the motor vehicle’s  road tax disc.

He said other items found in their car include, a drilling machine, a riveting machine, three double-sided tapes, and rivets.

Mr. Hamoonga said CCTV footage from the various crime scenes has been reviewed, and the suspects match the individuals depicted in these recordings.

He identified the suspects as  Prince Dube, male, aged 32, of Libala South,      George Chuma, male, aged 49, of Libala South, Fortune Maswabi, male, aged 43, of Libala South and Mudududzi Moyo, male, aged 40, of Chalala.

Mr. Hamoonga said some of the thefts associated with them are  theft from Motor Vehicle on July 25, 2024 at Puma Filling Station-Long acres, theft from Motor Vehicle on June 1, 2024 at Lewanika Mall traffic lights, and theft from Motor Vehicle on August 23, 2024, at Kings Highway, SDA New Kasama.
