A 5-year-old girl of Lusaka’s Mtendere East is nursing serious injuries after being defiled by 4 men.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, says the incident is alleged to have occurred on March 11, 2025 between 17:00 hours and 21:00 hours in Mtendere east.
Mr. Hamoonga said that Preliminary investigations indicate that on the fateful day, the victim was playing with her friends when she was left alone by the roadside.
He said it is alleged that William Phiri aged 21 and Lawrence Phiri aged 19, forcefully took her into an unfinished house, where they were later joined by Victor Muntita and an unidentified accomplice.
“The assailants allegedly covered the victim’s face with masks and took turns sodomizing her before threatening to slit her throat with a razor blade if she revealed the ordeal,” said Mr. Hamoonga in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said that the victim sustained injuries to the anal region and is receiving medical attention.
Mr. Hamoonga said that Police have since apprehended 2 of the suspects, while efforts to track down the remaining 2 are ongoing.
He has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
