Kamfinsa Member of Parliament, Christopher Kang’ombe, says none of the 156 constituencies have received the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) component for community projects.
Mr. Kang’ombe says this is despite almost being in the last quater of the year.
He was speaking yesterday, during a webinar organised by the Centre Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) and partners, on improving public participation in the planning and implementation of CDF.
Mr. Kang’ombe said constituencies have only received the component for students bursaries.
He also said even if the money was sent now, there won’t be enough time for the constituencies to finish the tendering processes, hence leading to the money being moped up by the Ministry of Finance.
“The taking back of unutilized CDF funds by Ministry of Finance and National Planning is not timed to suite community needs,” said Mr. Kang’ombe.
