Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Mike Mposha has launched the 2022-2026 ministerial strategic plan aimed at providing a coordinated approach in the implementation of programs and projects for economic growth sustained by climate resilient principles.
Mr. Mposha says the strategic plan whose vision is “A smart green economy and sustainable environment” seeks to ensure transparency, accountability and value for money in the management of natural resources for effective and efficient public service delivery.
Speaking during the Launch in Lusaka today, Mr. Mposha said that the government has devised mechanisms that will cushion the negative impact of drought such as hunger, erratic water supply and load shedding among others.
“Government has developed the communication and advocacy strategy on climate change whose key messages have been translated into seven languages to promote dissemination of climate change information to enhance awareness,” said Mr. Mposha.
Meanwhile Mr. Mposha said the ministry has also launched the annual corruption prevention action plan which will serve as a warning that corrupt practices will not be condoned in the ministry.
He said the 2022-2026 strategic plan will transform the landscape of this country by promoting sustainable environment and green agenda as espoused in national development documents.
