National Action for Quality Education in Zambia says there is need to train teachers on how to work with children who have autism.
Organization Executive Director Aaron Chansa says this is because most teachers even those who deal with special education do not know how to understand autistic children.
Speaking to Christian Voice News, Mr. Chansa said autism must be dealt with separately away from the generalized group of people living with disabilities.
Meanwhile, National Autism Association of Zambia Executive Director Angela Gondwe said there is need to have schools that are specifically for autistic children.
She said this is because autistic children are experiencing a challenge in mainstream schools where everyone is treated equally.
