Minister of Green Economy and Environment Collins Nzovu has commended Finland for the technical support it continues to provide to Zambia in various sectors including matters relating to climate change, forestry and circular economy.

Mr. Nzovu was speaking during a bilateral corporation in the forestry, climate change and circular economy meeting with the Finish Ambassador Saana Halinen.

Mr. Nzovu said the new culture of interaction which is emerging between industry and academia promotes new perspectives to future opportunities where both countries can share knowledge and improve the people’s livelihoods.

“The collaboration between the two governments will continue to yield the desired results for the mutual benefits of the people”, said Mr. Nzovu.

He said Zambia has over the years greatly benefited from the support received from the government of Finland in areas which include the forestry sector through direct grant support, staff training and expert exchange.

Mr. Nzovu re-echoed Zambia’s desire to drive the country towards a sustainable green economy.
