President Hakainde Hichilema has called for strong family values to guard against moral degradation and drug abuse in Zambia.
Speaking when he addressed the media at State House in Lusaka today, President Hichilema said families are the foundation that must inculcate good values, respect and observance of set laws to their children.
The president observed an increase in drug abuse.
He called on the church and other societal groups to work towards stabilizing Society.
The President said government has since put in more resources to improve rehabilitation for drug abusers .
And President Hichilema refuted sentiments that his government is anti China.
He assured that government is in talks and that meetings around debt restructuring are being held with France and China, who sit on the technical group.
Meanwhile, President Hichilema has appealed to Zambians to tame the appetite for consumption and invest the proceeds of NAPSA partial withdraw amount.
The president also encouraged NAPSA to invest the people’s money in the right places.
