The Road Transport and Safety Agency RSTA has announced the reduced bus fares for both the local and international routes following the meeting held with the public transport operators on the 2nd of August 2022.

RSTA Chief Executive Officer Alinani Msiya said in a statement issued in Lusaka today that the new reduced Bus fares are effective 7th August 2022.

Mr. Msiya said the long distance routes will reduce by 14% while local routes will reduce by K5, and peri urban and other towns will reduce by K7.

He urged the bus operators to facilitate for the reduction in bus fares due to the drop in fuel prices.

Meanwhile, Commuter Rights Association of Zambia President Aaron Kamuti has expressed satisfaction that government has implemented the reasonable reduction in bus fares across all routes.
