At least 156 people have so far been vaccinated following the launch of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination campaign yesterday at the University teaching hospital UTH.
Dr. Chanda says the ministry is closely monitoring the vaccinated individuals for possible side effects.
Speaking during the covid19 update in Lusaka today, Dr. Chanda has urged eligible persons for the vaccine to get vaccinated and not fall prey to social myths about the vaccine.
He said that government will continue to prioritize the health of its citizens by acquiring a vaccine that is safe for its people.
And Dr. Chanda said that country in the last 24hrs also recorded 143 new cases of covid19 with 1 death, while 42 patients were discharged in the same time frame.
